Escola Profissional Amar Terra Verde

Escola Profissional Amar Terra Verde (EPATV) is a vocational school, created in 1993 from a tripartite project agreement between three townhalls: Amares Terras de Bouro and Vila Verde and it is a private institution under the supervision of the Education Ministry.

The school has circa 750 students and 70 teachers, as well as 29 non-teaching staff members, and is located in Vila Verde, a mainly rural region, strongly unqualified and whose populations live with several socioeconomic problems.

The institution aim is to prepare pupils to join the Labor Market and to succeed in it, qualifying youth and thus the regional human resources and improving the life conditions of the communities. The course offer is wide, however, there is a stronger cluster in Catering/gastronomy, HealthCare Assistant, Metalworks, Renewable energies, Eletricity and Mechanics, Air Conditioning and Industrial Maintenance  courses due to the success this areas have shown in the last decade with almost total absorption of the graduates by the Labor Market.

The school had some experience in what concerns european projects, from Leonardo to Comenius typology in the past and now the two Erasmus+ main types concerning our education level: Ka1 and Ka 2.

Furthermore, we are strongly directed towards international cooperation, and we had and still have several  protocols with african portuguese-speaking countries, Lybia, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea. We are an Eco-School since 2007 and we are motivated towards an environment and society friendly atitude.
